UCP Audit

Is your Shopify store ready for AI shopping agents?

ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity are already sending shoppers to your category. The ones who win are the stores whose product data is legible to agents. Paste your store URL and get a 0–100 UCP readiness score with the specific fixes that move the needle.

Audit my store

Your store’s public catalog is fetched from your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

e.g. allbirds.com, mystore.myshopify.com, or any Shopify storefront.

Runs in your browser only No login required 100% free, no upsell

How the audit works

Three steps. No signup. No data leaves your browser.

1

Paste your storefront

Any Shopify store URL works — the custom domain (allbirds.com) or the .myshopify.com handle. We fetch the public /products.json endpoint the way an AI agent would.

2

Eight signals, one score

We score descriptions, image alt text, variant SKUs, pricing, inventory signals, SEO metadata, Schema.org, and catalog size. Each item links to a concrete fix.

3

Fix the gaps, ship the agent-ready catalog

Apply the 3–5 highest-leverage fixes in your Shopify admin. Re-run the audit to see your grade move. Join the waitlist to get the full UCP-feed app when it ships.

What the report looks like

No spreadsheet. No jargon. A clean score, a letter grade, and the next three things to fix.

Top recommendations

  1. Add image alt text. 31 of 31 images are missing alt. AI agents use alt to understand what they’re recommending. A short, descriptive sentence per image is enough.
  2. Lengthen product descriptions. Average is 140 characters. AI agents need 200+ to summarize a product confidently. Add 1–2 sentences covering material, use case, and a distinguishing detail.
  3. Add SKUs to 11 variants. 11 of 27 products have variants without a sku. Without SKUs, agents can’t match products to a buyer’s specific ask (size, color, capacity).
  4. Verify Schema.org Product markup. Check your product template in the theme for a JSON-LD Product block. This is a manual check — the audit can’t read it from /products.json.
  5. Re-run the audit after the fixes. You should see your grade move from C to B or A within 10 minutes of editing.

Frequently asked questions

What is UCP?

UCP (Universal Commerce Protocol) is the open standard co-published by Google and Shopify at NRF 2026. It defines how AI agents discover, evaluate, and (eventually) transact with merchant catalogs. Stores that expose UCP-ready product data are surfaced more reliably by ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, and the next wave of agentic shoppers.

Is the audit really free?

Yes. The audit runs entirely in your browser against your store’s public /products.json endpoint. We do not call a paid API, we do not store your product data, and we do not require a signup.

What does the score actually measure?

Eight categories, weighted to a 0–100 score: product descriptions (20), image alt text (15), variant SKUs (15), pricing clarity (10), inventory/availability (10), SEO basics (10), Schema.org structured data (10, manual), and catalog size (10). Each item links to a concrete fix.

Do you send my store data anywhere?

No. The audit fetches your public /products.json from your browser, runs the scoring locally, and shows you the result. Nothing is sent to a server. The optional waitlist email is the only data that leaves your device, and only if you submit it.

What if my store isn’t on Shopify?

The audit is designed for Shopify’s public /products.json endpoint. WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and custom stores expose different schemas — the audit will still run but some checks will report N/A.

How is this different from PageSpeed / Lighthouse?

PageSpeed measures how fast your pages load for humans. UCP readiness measures how well AI agents can read your product data. They’re complementary — and most stores that score 95+ on Lighthouse still score in the 50s on UCP readiness, because page performance and structured data quality are different problems.
